Cosplay We Love: Mystique in mid-shift

When you hear the phrase "Mystique cosplay," you may think of fans in skin-tight blue spandex or creatively applied body paint. That's because cosplayers have been capturing this particular natural/au naturel blue look since Rebecca Romijn first appeared as the character in the 2000 film X-Men. (A hat-tip for the cosplayers who cosplay comic book Mystique, with white gloves and skull belt.)

But cosplayer Rebecca Lindsay took it up a notch by capturing Mystique in the moment of transformation.

This image, recently seen on Reddit, shows Lindsay in what looks like blue spandex sewn into a military uniform (or is it the other way around?). Part of her face and neck are painted blue. One eye has a colored contact lens, but the other does not. She's also wearing part of a wig. I'm deeply impressed.

Cosplayers have been amping up their game with professional-quality builds and detailed props. This cosplay wins with sheer creativity.
