While we painfully await for Marvel’s Luke Cage to punch its way onto Netflix at the end of September, the comic book series is currently getting rave reviews and his being hailed as Marvel’s best series yet.

In order to whet our appetite (as if it wasn’t already), Netflix has released a brand-new clip introducing Luke Cage villain Cornell Stokes, aka Cottonmouth (Mahershala Ali).

In the Marvel Comics, Cottonmouth (whose name in the comics was Cornell Cottonmouth) was a drug kingpin in New York City who liked to use snakes as his trademark. He also had the same superhuman strength as Power Man (Cottonmouth was involved in the events that gave Cage his powers and later tried to recruit him into his criminal organization) and sported some very sharp teeth. Not sure he has them here, though. Have a look:

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city–forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

The Marvel series also stars Mike Colter as the titular hero, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Frank Whaley as Rafael Scarfe, Theo Rossi as Shades, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple.

Luke Cage will premiere on Sept. 30 on Netflix.
