For adults of a certain age, there’s a distinct nostalgia for the mid-to-late 1980s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series. Well, get ready to feel like a kid again.

The original 1980s voice cast -- consisting of Cam Clarke, Rob Paulsen, Barry Gordon and Townsend Coleman -- are set to reunite for an hourlong Nickelodeon special as part of the new Ninja Turtles series currently airing on the network. The reunion is set for Friday at 7 p.m., in the episode “Wormquake!”

Though the reunion is being billed a special for the new series, the timing comes as the comic celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, which will be commemorated with a nifty special-edition comic collection with series creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.

After a few decades by the wayside, it’ll be great to hear the old Turtles back in action. If nothing else, it’ll totally skew the demographics of that kiddie-leaning reboot as Gen X and Gen Y tune in for a nice throwback.
