In case you thought Instafame couldn’t lead to television fame, we present to you the curious case of Christine McConnell. With over 260,000 Instagram followers, there’s no doubt the artist/writer/photographer/creepy baker is a hit on the photo-sharing platform, so much so that Netflix has decided to give McConnell her very own cooking show: The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell.
The show, which we initially learned about during this year's TCAs, is part of a recent push by Netflix to up the streaming service’s cooking originals. And with this one being produced by Wilshire Studios and Henson Alternative, the more adult side of the Jim Henson Company, expect to see some creepy creatures helping out in the kitchen.
Netflix just announced the drop date of Oct. 12 and showed an alluring new poster, which McConnell shared on Instagram while tagging her announced producers, as well as "glamour evangelist" Dita Von Teese, who shared the image as well.
But if you really want to get a feel for the show, look no further than McConnell’s macabre baked goods and other cinematic Instagram posts...
According to Netflix, The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell invites you into the artist’s home as “she bakes, sculpts and sews to create delectable confections and hauntingly disturbing decor with the help of her colorful collection of creatures.”
