Nickelodeon is digging into the vault for its next original project, reviving the beloved Nicktoon Rocko’s Modern Life with an hourlong TV movie.

Dubbed Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling, the TV special is set to reunite the animated series’ original voice cast as the characters “adjust to life in the 21st century.” This being a Rocko story, it doesn’t all go well. Nickelodeon teases that “Heffer and Filburt embrace every aspect of new technology, social media and the endless diversity of food trucks, [while] Rocko whole-heartedly believes his nostalgia for the past can save him from the tortures of the modern world.”

According to TV Line, the cast list includes Carlos Alazraqui as Rocko, Spunky, and Leon; Tom Kenny as Heffer Wolfe, Chuck, and Really Really Big Man; Mr. Lawrence as Filburt Turtle and Maitre D’; Charlie Adler as Ed Bighead, Bev Bighead, Mr. Dupette, Grandpa Wolfe, and Mrs. Fathead; Linda Wallem as Aunt Gretchen and Dr. Hutchinson; Jill Talley as Nosey and Joe Murray as Ralph. New additions include Steve Little (Adventure Time) as Cowboy and Cosmo Segurson as Pillow Salesman.

Rocko’s TV movie joins a few other Nicktoon revival projects, including a new Invader Zim special, plus a Hey Arnold! movie.

What’s your take? Have you been waiting all this time to see how Rocko and the gang would fit in with the modern world (no pun intended)?
