Considering the fact that he’s pals with everyone from J.J. Abrams to Steven Moffat, Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch has been rumored for just about everything. So, what does he have to say about it all?

Cumberbatch reportedly answered a few questions for the Radio Times, and was asked about those lingering rumors indicating he could have a role in Abrams' upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, or perhaps even play the Doctor someday in a future incarnation of Moffat’s Doctor Who.

His response? It ain’t going to happen. Neither of 'em.

The acclaimed actor gave some short and sweet answers to the rumors, indicating that neither role will come to fruition. Of course, Cumberbatch is a playful guy, so he could be getting fitted for a lightsaber right now and using this interview simply to troll fans. But, at the moment, we’ll have to take him at his word:

“I'm never gonna play the Doctor - and nothing to do with the Whoniverse… I would've liked a part in JJ's new Star Wars but it won't happen, sadly.”

So, there you have it. Straight from the horse’s mouth. Apparently he reached his limit  of huge sci-fi franchises with Star Trek Into Darkness. Are you sad to hear Cumberbatch will apparently not have anything to do with these two storied sci-fi universes?
