Even though it’s not technically science fiction, Sherlock is a geeky fan favorite with its familiar faces (Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch) and its intelligent, entertaining dialogue and characters. We have two Sherlock-related videos for you, thanks to the media firehose that is San Diego Comic-Con.

The first video is a clip from the upcoming Christmas episode, which, unlike the very modern spin on the show, takes place in Victorian London. Watson is writing stories, not his blog … and Mrs. Hudson is none too happy with her portrayal. It’s an amusing little clip, a palate cleanser for the episode to come.

The second video is even more entertaining. In it, actor Andrew Scott, who played Moriarty in Sherlock, chats with Benedict Cumberbatch about why they’re not making an appearance at SDCC (Mark Gatniss, who plays Mycroft Holmes, also appears). Then the one-upmanship begins. It’s very dry, very British, very entertaining.

There’s one other reason to enjoy the sorry-we-can’t-make-it-to-SDCC video: At least the rest of us, especially the skeleton crew left behind here at Blastr, can say we have something in common with the cast of Sherlock

Here's the Christmas clip:
