The third star of The CW’s upcoming Supernatural spin-off Tribes has been cast, and spoiler alert, it’s a good-looking young person.

Sean Faris (Pretty Little Liars, Vampire Diaries) has been cast as werewolf Julian Durant, the son of a wealthy family of lycanthropes who are at odds with the shapeshifting Hayden clan. Faris joins Nathaniel Buzolic (The Originals) and Lucien Laviscount (Episodes) in the planted spinoff, which will follow the politics and power struggles in Chicago’s supernatural underbelly.

The show will dig into the “mafia-esque” monster clans that run Chicago, along with a young hunter trying to peel back the layers on what exactly is going on. All three actors will appear in the 20th episode of Supernatural's current season, which will serve as a backdoor pilot for Tribes.

That episode is set to air April 29, so we only have to wait a few more months to get a look at these potential lead stars in action. Considering Supernatural’s tight focus on the Winchesters, we’re curious to see how the writers handle the introduction of a wider world with new characters that will (hopefully) take the focus for Tribes.

There's no denying that the world of Supernatural is an extremely rich universe, but the jury is still out on whether fans will actually want to hang around with anyone other than Sam and Dean. If nothing else, Tribes should at least be an extremely handsome corner of the monstrous fantasy world.

What do you think about the casting decisions so far? Can Tribes actually capture the Supernatural magic?
