It's time to dust off your sword and sandals. All Hades has broken loose in the first official trailer for Wrath of the Titans. There are new gods, new foes and a whole lot of family drama.
Sam Worthington is back on the scene as Zeus' bastard, warrior son Perseus. A lot has changed since we last saw him. The story takes place a decade after the first film and has him living a quiet life as a farmer and father to a 10-year-old boy. Unfortunately, the life of a demigod isn't meant to be easy.
A war is brewing between the gods and the Titans, and the Titans are winning. Without the humans' unwavering devotion, the gods lose their strength and power. The plot is riddled with daddy issues because guess who's the leader of the Titan's rebellion? It's none other than Kronos, the father of brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon.
Zeus' other son, Ares, makes a deal with Kronos and helps kidnap and imprison his father. Perseus may not have the best relationship with his dad, but he's not going to ignore this betrayal. He joins forces with Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon's demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell) and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy) to invade the underworld and rescue Zeus.
As you can tell from the trailer, Andromeda is no longer a damsel in distress. It looks like someone has taken some self-defense classes. She's rocking warrior gear and is ready for battle. One-eyed giants (cyclops) and fiery dragons are just some of the creatures they encounter on their quest. There seems to be a lot more action in this sequel than the original (who knew that was possible?). We have to admit, this movie looks slightly better than its predecessor.
