Calling all Rick and Morty fans! We've got yet another update on the status of Season 4 straight from Dan Harmon himself, so get ready.
In a recent interview with Den of Geek at the Tribeca Film Festival, Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon gave an update on the status of the much-anticipated fourth season of the show. Will it happen? What's going on?
“I’m optimistic right now, at the moment,” said Harmon. “Negotiations are tough. It’s an unprecedented situation, and everybody’s being real cool and wants to make an agreement happen so that we can get started. That’s about all I can say.”
Phew! Last month, the status of the show seemed a little more dire as Harmon tweeted that the network had yet to order Season 4 of the iconic show, which began airing in 2013. But since, Harmon clarified his statements on an episode of SModcast, saying contract negotiations were the reason for the holdup. This latest update seems to say about the same, but hopefully if "everybody's being real cool" it's a good sign for fans.
The finale of Rick and Morty Season 3 aired last October on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. However, there was an almost two-year wait for fans between Seasons 2 and 3. Hopefully, the negotiations for Season 4 will get worked out soon and we'll have more Rick and Morty on our screens in no time at all.
