The first season of The CW’s Arrow has been building to a certain faceoff all year, and this first look at the season finale confirms we’ll have it soon enough.
Yes, TV Guide has published the first pics from the May 15 season finale, showing Arrow (Stephen Amell) chained up as Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), aka the Dark Archer, looks on. That’s right — they’re both unmasked, meaning Malcolm will learn Oliver’s secret identity and apparently get the upper hand on him.
Amell didn’t want to give too much away, but did say that all the subterfuge comes to an end as the two ass-kicking archers finally have a chat face-to-face:
"I start the season finale chained up and left for dead. I'm chained up by Mr. Barrowman. In the photos, he's not wearing a mask and neither am I. So everything is out in the open between us."
We’re definitely curious to find out what Arrow has to say once he finds out his archnemesis has been right under his nose all season. The writers have made it a point not to hold any storylines back this season, and it's made for one of the most engaging and action-packed shows of the year. Since we've been building to this faceoff for months, it should be a doozy.
How do you think this will all play out?
