Dark Castle has hired Todd Lincoln to write and direct The Apparition, a haunted-house movie supposedly based on true events, for Joel Silver's genre label, Variety reported.

Details of the project, an original idea developed by Lincoln, Dark Castle executive Alex Heineman and producer Daniel Alter, is being kept under wraps.

Apparition marks the second project Lincoln and Alter have conjured up at Warner Brothers-based Dark Castle over the past month, after setting up the sci-fi thriller The Nye Incidents there. That movie will be based on Whitley Strieber and Craig Spector's graphic novel.

Alter also has an adaptation of Jonny Quest set up at Warner with producer Adrian Askarieh.
