Marvel's long-running, but lesser-known, kung fu duo is about to get the digital comics treatment.

Marvel announced three new titles at San Diego Comic-Con as part of their new Marvel Digital Originals series, an imprint centered on characters that feature prominently in the TV side of the MCU

In addition to a couple of expected contenders for such treatment, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, the inclusion of a new Daughters of the Dragon series comes as a bit of a surprise. The duo isn't heading an existing Marvel TV show, per se, but Misty Knight and Colleen Wing have become fan favorites in their supporting roles in Netflix's Luke Cage and Iron Fist, respectively. And, of course, they have popped up in Marvel comics off-and-on since the '70s.

Given that the Daughters were seen kicking ass alongside one another in the adrenaline-pumping trailer for Iron Fist's upcoming second season, pairing them up for their own digital comic seems like a great way to further explore their mutual badassery.

You can check out all three covers for the recently announced Marvel Digital Originals below. Luke Cage will drop in August, Iron Fist: Phantom Limb in October, followed by Daughters of the Dragon in November.

This news comes shortly after last week's announcement that Jessica Jones is getting a new three-issue Digital run of her own, titled Jessica Jones: Blind Spot (the first issue of which is available now), and last month's reveal of a new Cloak and Dagger surprise series. So yeah, Marvel's TV and comic arms appear to be clapping in synch.

Of course, given that the Daughters of the Dragon isn't really a Marvel TV property in and of itself, could this Digital Originals treatment lead to Misty and Colleen getting their very own spinoff -- something we've been behind since the second season of Luke Cage dropped earlier this year?
