While we wait for David Lynch’s Twin Peaks revival to finally arrive in 2017, we can take a look back to a 1990s sequel the famed director created to help sell some coffee In Japan.

Turns out, the director has a very big fan base in Japan. So, back in the early 1990s, Lynch produced a series of commercials featuring Kyle MacLachlan looking into a new case. The commercials were created to promote Georgia Coffee. The coffee company (owned by Coca-Cola) reportedly planned to do a sequel series of commercials but pulled the plug after this first run.

If you don’t quite have the time for a full rewatch of the entire show before the new season premieres, these commercials actually hit a fair bit of the high points. Not everything (obviously), but better than nothing. Plus, if you’re a fan, this is one awesomely weird piece of TV history.
