Doctors Who must come and go, and fans will disagree, but the Doctor who most often inspires the moniker "Best Doctor of All Time," is often David Tennant. So, if you, like me, have had enough of a hard time seeing beloved, trustworthy Time Lord Tennant as the villain Kilgrave (or any villain) in Netflix's Jessica Jones, the next bit of news will come as a relief: Tennant has recently revealed to EW that he could have been (but wasn't!) cast as Hannibal Lecter on NBC's Hannibal

"I met Bryan Fuller [the executive producer of Hannibal] a couple of times, and we talked about it," Tennant told the magazine. "But I think they quite wisely chose Mads Mikkelsen," he continued. "I think he was a perfect choice for it, and I think he did things with that character that I wouldn't have managed, so I think the right man got the job." [Ed note: Of course, because you are the Doctor and the Doctor doesn't eat people.]

However, of course, no such fandom luck could stop him from being absolutely dastardly to Jessica Jones, and again soon in next month's Bad Samaritan, where his murderous character makes Kilgrave look like Jessica Jones with a hangover

Well, you can't win em all. At the very least we'll never think of David Tennant, fava beans, and a nice chianti.
