We can't hide the fact that we're really looking forward to seeing director Craig Gillespie's upcoming Fright Night remake. Really, we just can't. That last trailer we saw was awesome—and so are these new movie banners which David Tennant totally rocks.
While the dark comedy/horror movie is set to be released in theaters on August 19 in the U.S., the film will actually make its official debut at this summer's San Diego Comic-Con. Main stars Colin Farrell, Imogen Poots, Anton Yelchin and David Tennant will be in attendance to talk about the upcoming DreamWorks remake of the 1985 classic.
We wonder if the emphasis will be more on horror and less on the dark comedy aspect, since it's got that R rating ... but we hope not. A nice mix of both genres is what made the original ooze with charm.
And just to refresh your memory a bit, here's the film synopsis:
Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he's running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school. In fact, he's so cool he's even dissing his best friend. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there's something not quite right--but everyone, including Charlie's mom (Toni Collette), doesn't notice. After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.
So what do you think of the movie banners? Do you plan to attend the panel at Comic-Con? And most importantly: Will you watch the film on August 19?
