Principal photography on Deadpool 2 has officially begun! Yes, the sequel to the top-grossing R-rated film, and a bonafide hit in the X-Men movie world, which will introduce characters like Cable and Domino, has started filming. The occasion was marked as it always is, with a slate board to mark the occasion, though pictures of the clapper aren't usually shared by the star of the film. For Ryan Reynolds, star and producer, Deadpool has proven to be more than just another movie, and he shared a picture of the end of day one.

Of course, you might want a little more than a slate, and luckily the first day of shooting was right out in the open, and that means fans got some pictures of the action. It appears to show Deadpool, in his mask but otherwise regular street clothes, diving between a bunch of children. The second set shows him again in mostly street clothes getting into a shootout -- maybe he doesn't think it's gonna go so well -- he's wearing brown pants. Why isn't he wearing his full costume in either scene? We're not sure just yet, but judging by there being action in both sets, it looks like we'll see plenty of the dynamic stunts that made the first film so dang cool.

Deadpool 2 is now filming, under director David Leitch, who co-directed John Wick and has the equally action-heavy Atomic Blonde coming later this year. Zazie Beets will debut the role of Domino, the luck-powered mercenary rival of Deadpool, and Josh Brolin jumps from the villanous Titan Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War to play the time-traveling mutant supersoldier Cable in Deadpool 2. The movie is shooting now for a June 1, 2018, release.
