Deadpool 2 has found the man who will star as X-Force leader and time-traveling mutant Cable, and he should be familiar for Marvel fans.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Brolin has landed the highly sought-after role of Nathan Summers, aka Cable. The Oscar-nominated actor will star alongside Ryan Reynolds as the Merc With a Mouth and Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) as fellow merc Domino. Brolin has apparently signed on the dotted line for four movies.

Before the role went to Brolin, Michael Shannon (Man of Steel) and David Harbour (Stranger Things) were on the shortlist for the role, with rumors of talks between 20th Century Fox and Russell Crowe, as well as Brad Pitt. It'll be interesting to see Brokin's Cable play against Reynold's wise-cracking, fourth-wall-breaking anti-hero.

Of course, this isn't Josh Brolin’s first comic book role. The actor already stars as the Mad Titan Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will be seen in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War in 2018. He also played the titular character in the 2010 Jonah Hex movie. Slated to begin filming in June in Vancouver, director David Leitch's Deadpool 2 is set to open sometime in 2018.

What do you think of the casting of Josh Brolin as Cable?
