An actress has been found to play the mutant sharpshooter and X-Force member.

We've been hearing about the search for an actress to take the role of Domino for a while now, and it seems the quest has come to an end with the hiring of Zazie Beetz. Best known as Vanessa on Donald Glover's hit FX series Atlanta, the German-born actress has also been seen in the Netflix show Easy and a smattering of films and other TV programs.

The announcement of her casting was made by Ryan Reynolds, who posted an image of a group of dominoes in which Beetz's name was spelled out:

The rumored list of actresses who tested for Domino was impressive, including Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane), Lizzy Caplan (Now You See Me 2), Sienna Miller (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra), Sofia Boutella (Star Trek Beyond), Stephanie Sigman (Spectre) and Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049).

Now Reynolds and director David Leitch just have to find the man to play Cable, with names ranging from Avatar's Stephen Lang (still the best choice) to Stranger Things sheriff David Harbour all running through the rumor mill in recent weeks.

A mercenary and mutant whose abilities include enhanced reflexes as well as fighting skills and extraordinary marksmanship, Domino (real name Neena Thurman) also possesses the ability to initiate random telekinetic acts that affect probability in her favor as long as she is participating or taking action in a way that she can affect the outcome.

She has also been a member of Cable's X-Force paramilitary mutant team and has even briefly been part of the X-Men in the quarter century she's been around in the comics, which means that Beetz is probably signing a contract for multiple films.
