One of the biggest questions that hadn’t been answered yet as it pertains to Comic-Con 2018 was what would replace the Marvel Studios panel on Saturday night. The main reason con-goers camp out overnight, Marvel always brought the goods to the annual pop-culture mecca. Their absence left some big shoes to fill. Luckily for fans, the Merc With a Mouth has stepped up to fill them.
In yet another amazing chapter of the book that is Deadpool marketing, 20th Century Fox will be presenting a panel to promote a movie that has been out for almost two months. According to the official Comic-Con website, “Deadpool and pals drop into Hall H for an hour of maximum effort.” We hope that means Ryan Reynolds and the rest of the cast will be on hand to bring as much debauchery as they can to the Comic-Con faithful.
Not only that, but at 10:00 Saturday night, Comic-Con will premiere Deadpool 2: Uncut at the Horton Grand Theater. Will it be an extended R-rated version of the movie, or will it be an unrated version that includes every gross-out and inappropriate joke you can expect from everyone’s second-favorite mutant (even Deadpool himself knows the importance of Hugh Jackman)?
With the absence of both Marvel and Game of Thrones at SDCC this year, it was looking like this could have been a “cooling-off” year for Comic-Con. Thanks to Deadpool, it looks like lines aren't going to get any shorter.
San Diego Comic-Con takes place July 19-22.
