Deadpool 2's insane marketing campaign wants to give you the finger with hilarious gummy baby hands

Have you ever just taken a moment and said to yourself, "Gee, I really wish I could munch on Deadpool's baby hand from his first movie"? Well, you don't have to ask that extremely strange question anymore, because the opportunity to chow down on Wade Wilson's infantile fist has arrived. That might sound like a crude euphemism, but it's exactly what it sounds like, folks; candy company Trolli is releasing mini gummy hands inspired by 2016's Deadpool in anticipation of the sequel this month. The Merc With a Mouth literally wants to give you the finger... right in the mouth.

Launching exclusively for 7-11 on May 7, the new confection was cut straight from the scene when Deadpool, having lost Ajax (Ed Skrein) once again, slices off his own hand while in custody of the X-Man Colossus (Stefan Kapičić), who wants to take him to see Professor X. Thanks to his incredible healing factor not unlike Wolverine's, Wade gives up the appendage, knowing full well that it'll just grow back.

However, since this is an R-rated superhero movie, Ryan Reynolds had to have some fun with it, showing the audience that the hand needs to grow back as if it were the hand of a developing fetus. While he hangs out with Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), we see that he's got a baby hand, and to make things even weirder, he decides to use it to, uh, well, you get the idea.

This is just the latest stroke of marketing brilliance (or is it insanity?) for Deadpool 2. As you'll recall, the entire affair began with a little parody of Norman Rockwell, and things sort of snowballed from there. Next came a guest editor role for Good Housekeeping, then free Brazillian tattoos, then a birthday wish for One Direction's Zayn Malick, recently culminating in an ad for frozen meals and a partnership with a tequila company. Oh, and we can't forget the coloring book and dear Peter.

Things are only gonna get stranger when the sequel, complete with X-Force and Cable (Josh Brolin), arrives in theaters May 18. We're not saying that we condone the smuggling of outside snacks into your local screening, but these gummies might be the perfect thing to enhance this particular cinematic experience. And just to make things more enticing, don't worry, the hands won't be flesh-flavored, but come in a variety of tantalizing tastes: Pineapple/Mango (yellow/orange), Blueberry/Lime (blue/green), and Strawberry/Berry Punch (Red/Purple).
