The bar serving as Ryan Reynolds’ base of operations as he plays Deadpool is breaking the fourth wall as badly as the Merc With a Mouth. While T.J. Miller’s Weasel won’t be showing up (probably), Sister Margaret’s School for Wayward Girls will be temporarily open to the drinking public — just be careful your name doesn’t end up on their dead pool board.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the diviest of dive bars in the superhero underbelly is coming to the coasts in support of the superhero’s standalone sequel film.
Deadpool 2 will bring the pop-up bar to NYC hangout Alligator Lounge in Brooklyn on April 26-28 from 7 to 11:30 p.m., with pizza accompanying the drinks. Like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle sort of vibe. As far as Los Angeles goes, Slipper Clutch will be reborn as the Hellhouse on May 10-12 from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Here pizza will be replaced with the one food more appropriate for the eccentric, profane, antiheroic wordsmith: chimichangas.
The Slipper Clutch pop-up will help support the nonprofit and downtown L.A.-based DTLA Film Festival, which is helping put on the bar. Also supporting the two events is beverage company Mike's Harder, of Mike’s Hard Lemonade (the Deadpool of alcoholic drinks) fame. The company will be providing Deadpool-influenced cans of their drinks and an opportunity to win a trip to the film’s premiere.
Deadpool 2 opens May 18.
