Gerry Duggan has been one of the most tireless writers in the comics kingdom, with his witty, prolific talents on display in memorable titles like Deadpool, All-New Guardians of the Galaxy, Uncanny Avengers, Nova, Chewbacca, Hawkeye vs. Deadpool, Doctor Strange: The Last Days of Magic, and Despicable Deadpool.

Duggan's latest project is Image's Dead Rabbit, a dark, noirish crime thriller revolving around a notorious masked hood and hit man who's come out of retirement 20 years later.

Perfectly accentuated by artist John McCrea (MYTHIC, Hitman), this semi-comedic series chronicles the misadventures of Martin Dobbs, aka Dead Rabbit, a badass Boston stick-up man and hoodlum from the '90s. After taking down one last fat score, he suddenly vanished to spend time with the love of his life. Now he’s returned two decades later in the fear-inducing disguise to try and save her, and nobody is too pleased he's taking up his old profession.

Image Comics is delivering a special over-sized first issue to attract mature readers who might be lured into the action-oriented title punctuated with a solid punch of Duggan's trademark twisted humor.

"I couldn’t be more excited about Dead Rabbit. John McCrea & Mike Spicer have created this dark, funny, wonderful world set in Boston," Duggan told SYFY WIRE. "Martin Dobbs' return to Dead Rabbit is a tragedy for him, but we hope it's a dark, funny treat for comic readers. Thanks to Image, retailers and all the fans that check us out this week. We're going to have a lot of fun and maybe break your heart."

Duggan will also be attending New York Comic Con for signings at Booth A-27.
