Death is coming for Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in the first teaser trailer and poster for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the fifth entry in the popular movie franchise. First released during last night’s Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 finale on AMC, it then made its merry way ashore online.

The CGI-filled teaser introduces us to Javier Bardem’s Captain Salazar, who clearly has a beef against everyone’s favorite pirate (well, to be fair, from the synopsis below, it seems he has a beef against every pirate sailing the Seven Seas). We also meet Brenton Thwaites’ Henry, who will be tasked with giving Captain Jack a message from Salazar.

The only downside to the nearly 2-minute teaser? There’s no Captain Jack in sight besides that (ahem) cameo of sorts on those Wanted posters, but I'm sure they're keeping him for the full trailer. Still, I gotta admit that this first teaser trailer has hit the right spot for me, and I'm actually looking forward to this one.

Have a look:

Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will also see the return of Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa and Orlando Bloom as Will Turner and is slated to open in movie theaters on May 26, 2017.
