Deathstroke prepares to skydive in exclusive clip from 'Knights & Dragons' movie

By Josh Weiss
Deathstroke Knights & Dragons The Movie

Secure your parachute and take off with an exclusive clip from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons: The Movie. SYFY WIRE's sneak peek at the film sees the world's greatest mercenary (voiced by The Shield's Michael Chiklis) and his wife, Adeline Kane Wilson (Sasha Alexander), planning to raid a H.I.V.E. plane to rescue their kidnapped son, Joseph Jericho (Griffin Puatu). Did we mention that this is all taking place in mid-air? Yeah, it's got some serious Dark Knight Rises vibes going on, although Tom Hardy's Bane is nowhere to be found.

Before Slade Wilson and Addie can go skydiving, however, we learn that several terror attacks have been carried out (presumably by H.I.V.E.) throughout the United States. Wilson's trusted ally and designated pilot, William Wintergreen (Colin Salmon), laments the fact that the government didn't heed their warnings, but Slade argues that they just didn't get the message out in time.

Get ready to jump with the clip below:

"Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons gives DC Animated Movies’ their first true look into the complicated backstory of one of DC’s most controversial characters — Deathstroke is sometimes villain, sometimes anti-hero, and always deadly," Mary Ellen Thomas, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Senior Vice President, Originals, Animation and Family Marketing, said in a statement. "Michael Chiklis does an incredible job capturing the ruthless approach and conflicted internal struggles of Deathstroke."

The supporting voice cast also features the talents of Chris Jai Alex ("The Jackal"), Faye Mata ("Jade/H.I.V.E Queen"), Imari Williams ("President Nichols"), Asher Bishop ("Young Joseph"), Delbert Hunt ("Bronze Tiger"), Panta Mosleh ("Lady Shiva"), Noshir Dalal ("Kapoor"), Castulo Guerra ("General Suarez"), and Minae Noji ("Secretary of State").

Originally aired as a series of animated shorts on CW Seed, the feature-length assembly of Knights & Dragons features 50 minutes of never-before-seen footage. The film, which runs for 87 minutes, was directed by Sung Jin Ahn (Niko and the Sword of Light) from a script by J.M. DeMatteis (Superman: Red Son). Sam Register, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter serve as executive producers.

Deathstroke Knights & Dragons: The Movie (Rated R) is now available to purchase on digital platforms. The Blu-ray combo pack goes on sale Tuesday, August 18. Both versions include a special featurette entitled "Deathstroke: One-Man Death Machine."
