It was on this day in 1979 that Disney’s The Black Hole premiered.

It has Ernest Borgnine and Anthony Perkins! People went to see it, because it was big and splashy, but critics sort of panned it and it's still hovering around a 45% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. But as with most space movies made in the past, nothing is as fun to watch as yesterday's vision of tomorrow.

Also, it's the birthday of Barbarella. Jane Fonda turns 80 today.

And! Samuel L. Jackson turns 69 today. We daresay he's barely aged a day since Pulp Fiction (1994).

And Kiefer Sutherland turns 51 today. How are those maggots, Michael?

Tomorrow: Tom Riddle's birthday.
