One of the most intriguing films of the Halloween season opens in less than two weeks, and now we have some fascinating new footage from Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak.

The studio has dropped a new clip and some fresh featurettes from the R-rated romantic horror period piece (only del Toro), and they show off more of the creepy, foreboding vibe the director has seemingly nailed with his latest project. Though he has the occasional film hit the skids (see: Pacific Rim 2, Hellboy 3), the fact that this film is even opening is a testament to his clout and reputation.

The film stars Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers), Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim) and Mia Wasikowska (The Double). It’s set in the late 19th century and is described as a ghost story about the secrets that haunt a (very creepy) family mansion. According to /Film, the flick will definitely subvert some expectations, as it’s far from your typical horror flick. But we’d expecting nothing less from del Toro.

Check out the new clip below:

Keep on rolling to see a few new featurettes:

Crimson Peak opens Oct. 16.
