The pilot episode for The CW’s Flash was essentially a masterclass in launching a successful comic-book series. It had likable characters, broad and defined story arcs, and was fun. It also included some nice easter eggs for DC fans. Turns out, a really big one wound up on the cutting-room floor.

With the first season of the hit series set to hit Blu-ray and DVD on Sept. 22, the studio has dropped a nifty deleted scene via Entertainment Weekly. It seems to be an extended/alternate cut of a scene that essentially made it to air, but with one crucial difference: This one name-drops Amnesty Bay and “a man who can talk to fish.” Hmm, that definitely sounds familiar.

Check out the scene below and let us know what you think:

Obviously, much like the handful of nods to that missing Ferris Air pilot dropped last season, we’d imagine there’s little chance DC is actually planning to bring Aquaman (or Green Lantern, for that matter) to the small screen here. But the team behind Flash and Arrow love dropping in easter eggs for fans, and this is a fun one. Well played.
