Game of Thrones has inspired some wonderful music, as well as art, food and conspiracy theories. But now the HBO show, based on GRRM's currently incomplete book series, has inspired something even more mainstream: a fashion show.
According to the BBC, designer Manish Arora created a fashion show inspired by House Stark, House Lannister and Brienne of Tarth. "I believe life is beautiful when you know it's not. So, I'm always in a fantasy, and this is an extension of how I feel," Arora said.
As with much of fashion, it's a little … out there (and we're saying this as a blog that covered this). The clothes look like they cost as much as a single episode of Game of Thrones -- not to mention that they're not actually streetwear -- and we can't see ourselves strutting down the street in some of these creations. But it's pretty cool to see how much this dragon-filled fantasy has bled into reality.
This isn't the first time geek has gone couture. Rodarte held a Star Wars-inspired fashion show in early 2014. And Ashley Eckstein, CEO of Her Universe, held a geek fashion show at San Diego Comic-Con.
