Despite Flashpoint, Supergirl will stay in a separate reality from the Arrow-verse

Since The Flash is tackling the universe-busting story Flashpoint, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to move Supergirl into the Arrow-verse, right? Well, apparently not.

With Supergirl now (metaphorically) hanging out with Arrow, Flash and Legends of Tomorrow on The CW schedule — and news that Kara would definitely have roles in the upcoming network crossover events — it made sense the creative teams would consider merging her alternate reality with the main continuity from the other three shows.

But in a chat with Cinema Blend, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed the series will remain separate from the rest of the Arrow-verse:

“Not for her entire world, but Kara will be traveling from her dimension to our dimension, ‘our’ being the world that The Flash, Arrow, and Legends lives in.”

Considering we already had a cross-network, cross-universe crossover (say that three times fast) last season between Supergirl and Flash, bringing Kara over from her reality probably isn’t all that hard. But you’d think it’d just be … easier to put it all under the same umbrella. Though you’d also have to address the Superman-sized elephant in the room for the rest of the DC heroes, so it might be best to keep Kara’s world on the outside.

What do you think? Do you want separate universes or one big ol’ Arrow-verse?
