We’re less than a month away from the third season premiere of WGN America’s hit horror series Salem (yes, I’m counting), and with the show getting a panel at New York Comic-Con this coming Friday, the powers-that-be have unleashed a new video boasting some exciting new footage.
Featuring interviews with show creators Brannon Braga and Adam Simon, as well as Shane West (John Alden), Seth Gabel (Cotton Mather), Ashley Madekwe (Tituba), Tamzin Merchant (Anne Hale), Iggo Goldberg (Isaac Walton) and Season 3 newcomer Marylin Manson as barber/surgeon Thomas Dinley, the 3-minute video offers a sneak peek at what's next for the denizens of Salem when the show picks up where we left off; with the town having gone to hell thanks to the coming of Satan himself (aka the DEVIL) in the form of Mary Sibley (Janet Montgomery) and John Alden’s young son, played by Oliver Bell.
The third season of “Salem” dawns with the triumph of the witches' plan to remake the New World by bringing the devil to earth and making Salem his capital. But the devil is a liar, and instead of a New World free from murderous Puritan hypocrisy, his own plan will bring nothing but death and slavery with the ultimate aim of leading humanity to destroy itself. And there's only one person on earth who can beat the devil -- the very witch that birthed him, his mother, Mary Sibley. The only problem is—she's dead. Or is she?
Those lucky to be at the NYCC panel — which will be attended by Brannon Braga, Adam Simon, Shane West and Janet Montgomery on Oct. 7 at 2:45 p.m. — will get to see an extended sneak peek at Season 3. Salem returns on Nov. 2 on WGN America.
