Did Snyder hire a Watchmen alum to play Bruce Wayne's dad in Batman v Superman?

A new set pic from the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice shoot has leaked out, and it seems to reveal who’ll be playing Bruce Wayne’s (Ben Affleck) late father, Thomas Wayne.

The set pic seems to be of a massive, vintage painting of a man sitting in a huge leather chair. It seems like the kind of thing you might find hanging on a wall in Wayne Manor, and the prevailing hypothesis is that it represents the dearly departed Thomas Wayne.

But if you look closely at the pic, the mustachioed gentleman seems to bear a striking resemblance to Watchmen star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, aka the Comedian. Of course, Snyder directed that film before he locked up the larger DC gig with Man of Steel, and the two seemed to get along well on that project.

It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to see Snyder bring over Morgan in a flashback scene or two, or heck, maybe this is all just one big (extremely geeky) easter egg he’s tossing in to the background. Or perhaps Morgan plays a completely different character — though we’d doubt it's anyone from the modern day, at least judging by that mustache.

Or, you know, maybe it's not Morgan at all and we’re all crazy. What do you think?

Now, for the sake of comparison...
