Some people have awesomely keen eyes—and a lot of time on their hands, too, luckily for geekdom everywhere. And so it is that we may have completely missed our very first "look" at The Hobbit's big bad dragon Smaug. Until now.
The One Ring.net have been going over some older Hobbit production videos (especially video production #2, which came out back in July of 2011) and have unearthed this tiny bit here which we all sorta missed.
Back then, Peter Jackson's crew had been sporting some sweatshirts with "200 Days To Go" plainly written on their backs.
What we couldn't see was the front of these sweatshirts, which apparently sported this golden little logo here:
And it looks pretty darn similar to famed Lord of the Rings and Hobbit artist extraordinaire John Howe's rendition of Smaug the dragon posted above ...
What do you guys think? Is this a clue to the Smaug we'll see onscreen?
