They did the monster mash!
Director Michael Dougherty (Krampus) confirmed yesterday that his upcoming kaiju blockbuster Godzilla: King of the Monsters is finished and ready for audiences. A sequel to Gareth Edwards' 2014 Godzilla reboot, the film will introduce new versions of Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah, all three beasties hinted at in the post-credits sequence of Kong: Skull Island.
"It is done," Dougherty wrote, who co-penned the screenplay with Max Borenstein (The Terror) and Zach Shields (Craggio). "With love and gratitude to the thousands of talented people all around the world who helped make this lifelong dream a reality. In Godzilla we trust. @GodzillaMovie."
Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) and Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring) lead the movie's cast, which includes Kyle Chandler (First Man), Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water), Ken Watanabe (Inception), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), and Charles Dance (Game of Thrones).
A prelude comic from Legendary, Godzilla: Aftershock, will help set the stage for the epic monster collision when it goes on sale in the spring.
