There’s a very cool short film that’s been making the rounds in the past couple of days that’s getting a lot of buzz online, and I thought this is something you guys might like to see (if you haven’t already). The nifty twist? It’s actually a commercial for BMW!

Directed by sci-fi helmer Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium) and starring Clive Owen (Children of Men), who returns as The Driver, Dakota Fanning (Hide and Seek), Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel, The Conjuring) and Jon Bernthal (Daredevil), the short film, titled “The Escape,” features action-packed sequences, a car chase and some amazing driving stunts worthy of big-screen productions. Although the movie doesn’t scream SCI-FI!!!!, the story features some sci-fi elements sprinkled into the storyline with a backdrop of illegal human cloning, and it’s pretty clear that Fanning’s character (who is named Lily) is actually a clone created by Vera Farmiga’s doctor.

This may be one of the most fun TV adds I’ve seen in ages, and it sure doesn’t hurt one bit that it boasts such an excellent cast in Owen, Fanning, Farmiga and Bernthal (who became a favorite of mine after his turn as Frank Castle/The Punisher in Marvel and Netflix's second season of Daredevil). Plus, getting Neill Blomkamp to direct “The Escape” was a fantastic move. Have a look below, and let us know what you think.
