Move over, Star Wars! It’s time to trade in that lightsaber for a bullwhip and dust off that fedora because THERE'S A NEW INDIANA JONES COMING.

And the news is coming straight from the Mouse House.

In a video interview with Bloomberg News, Disney Chairman Robert Iger confirmed a new Indiana Jones was in Disney’s near future. Of course, rumors of a new Indy film have been swirling about for a while now (ever since Disney acquired Lucasfilm, as a matter of fact), but this is practically confirmation that a fifth movie is definitely in the works.

“With George Lucas's Star Wars -- and Indiana Jones, by the way, which will be coming, we have more great stories,” Iger said. “And I think in a world where there's far more content and intellectual property and great choice, I think great stories still stand out.”

Check out the video below, the exact quote begins around the 7:40 mark (although there's some good stuff in there before that as well):

As for who will step into the larger-than-life shoes of the famous archaeologist, all signs point to Harrison Ford reprising one of his most iconic roles. Just recently, Steven Spielberg said only Han Solo could play Indiana Jones:

“I don’t think anyone could replace Harrison as Indy, I don’t think that’s ever going to happen. It’s certainly not my intention to ever have another actor step into his shoes in the way there have been many actors that have played Spider-Man or Batman. There is only going to be one actor playing Indiana Jones and that’s Harrison Ford.”

As for when we’ll actually get that new Indy movie on the big screen is everybody's guess. But with Harrison Ford currently free of Star Wars, I gather it’ll be sooner rather than later. What do you think? Are you excited to hear a new Indiana Jones is in the works?
