Looks like Disney has officially found its leading man and woman for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Aladdin. During their D23 Expo presentation earlier today, the House of Mouse announced that Naomi Scott and Mena Massoud would be taking on the roles of Aladdin and Jasmine.

Will Smith has also officially signed on for the role of Genie, following earlier reports that he was in talks for the role.

The casting comes just days after reports that Disney was having trouble finding actors of Middle Eastern descent to take on the main roles, something they had pledged to do early on in the film's production.

Scott is no stranger to big-budget blockbusters, having most recently appeared as Kimberly Hart in Power Rangers. Massoud, however, is a relative newcomer. His previous credits include several appearances on Canadian television dramas.

No word yet on when we can expect the film to hit theaters. It will be directed by Guy Ritchie from a script by John August. There are still plenty of cast members to come, including the Sultan, Jafar and Iago.

What do you think of the casting? Who would you like to see fill out the group?
