At D23 Expo Japan, it was revealed that Disneyland Paris would be opening Disney’s Hotel New York — The Art of Marvel in 2020 (which is in Paris, don't let the name confuse you). It turns out that won’t be the only dose of superheroes and changes the park will receive in the years to come, though.
On Tuesday, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced the park will also expand to add three new areas inspired by Marvel, Frozen, and Star Wars. Iger made the announcement while in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron. The three locations at Disneyland Paris, also known as Walt Disney Studios Park, will be connected by a new lake and feature live entertainment as well as attractions.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, Iger said they are “very excited about the future of Disneyland Paris and continue to invest in its long-term success.”
“The resort is already the leading tourist destination in Europe, and the transformative expansion we announced today will add even more of our beloved characters and unparalleled storytelling to create new lands, attractions and entertainment that further elevate the guest experience and drive new opportunities for tourism in this dynamic region,” Iger said.
The expansion will cost two billion euros and it will be developed over multiple years. It will be rolled out in phases starting in 2021.
