You're gonna need an industrial-sized Kleenex for the latest Christopher Robin trailer from Disney. Clocking in at four minutes, this extended sneak peek allows for more breathing room that the previews up until this point just haven't had.
As a result, the emotional underpinnings of the entire film shine through like the sun through a dark raincloud. As underscored by the words of Winnie the Pooh himself, "It's always a sunny day when Christopher Robin comes to play."
Ewan McGregor stars in the titular role, but he's not the carefree kid he once was. With a family and a full-time job, he's forgotten what it's like to have fun and that's the entire point of this sneak peek.
"I'm not who I used to be. I'm lost," Christopher tells his old friend, Winnie the Pooh.
"You need to remember who you are," responds Pooh (Jim Cummings) without missing a beat.
It's enough to send emotional shivers down your spine, but don't take our word for it, watch the newly-released trailer below!
Throughout the extended footage, you actually see Christopher go from uptight businessman to happy-go-lucky kid. The character's poignant journey is on full display, but it wouldn't be possible without a little help from some friends.
"Christopher always comes to save us, now it's our turn to save him," Pooh says to the other inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood: Tigger (also Cummings), Eeyore (Brad Garrett), Piglet (Nick Mohammed), Owl (Toby Jones), Kanga (Sophie Okonedo), Rabbit (Peter Capaldi), and Roo (Wyatt Hall).
Eyeore really steals the show at the end of the sneak peek when Pooh asks him to play the "Say-What-You-See" game. The donkey's answers? "Disgrace, shame, humiliation."
Directed by Marc Forster (World War Z), Christopher Robin arrives in theaters to stimulate your nostalgia gland August 3.
