It may not have the clout of The Hunger Games, but the Divergent saga has been slowly building its box-office base over the past few years. But now Tris’ journey is coming to an end.

The studio has released the first trailer for Allegiant, which takes the story in a wildly fresh direction. The gang is finally making it beyond that mysterious wall, and what they find on the other side should at least make for some awesome sci-fi eye candy. Just like every other young adult sci-fi series, they’ve split the final book into two films — so there’s still one more movie on the way once this one lands.

The franchise has its fans out there, but it's always felt like a Hunger Games knockoff, and newcomers like The Maze Runner have managed to be more compelling entries in that mid-budget dystopian genre. Who knows? Maybe with the final run, it'll finally pay off on the potential of its excellent cast.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

After the earth-shattering revelations of INSURGENT, Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known. Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.
