The wait for the 13th Doctor is almost over!

BBC America has announced that Auntie Beeb will soon reveal who will get the keys to the TARDIS from departing 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi during this year’s upcoming Doctor Who Christmas Special. The yuletide episode will feature David Bradley in the role of the First Doctor and see Steven Moffat leave, with Chris Chibnall taking over showrunner duties for Season 11.

The official announcement will be made after the Wimbledon men’s final on Sunday, July 16, so you can bet your sweet @$$ we’ll be here to share the news! To whet our appetite for the announcement, BBC America has tweeted this tantalizing teaser.

Will the 13th incarnation of the Time Lord be a woman? Will he/she finally be ginger?(Remember how disappointed David Tennant's Ten and Matt Smith’s Eleven were about not being ginger.)
