You've seen the return of The Doctor in the form of Jodie Whittaker. Now, prepare for what's next.
Doctor Who fans the world over watched Sunday as Whittaker finally made her debut as the Thirteenth Doctor on the long-running BBC America series, making her the first woman to play the role. We had a prime seat for everything that went down at the show's New York Comic Con premiere earlier in the afternoon, but now that history's been made and the 11th series of new Who is officially off and running, it's time to look into the future adventures of The Doctor and her new friends.
Shortly after the premiere of "The Woman Who Fell to Earth" the official Doctor Who YouTube channel dropped a pair of new teasers. The first is a brief peek at the next episode, "The Ghost Monument," which features The Doctor, Ryan (Tosin Cole), Yaz (Mandip Gill), and Graham (Bradley Walsh) visiting what is, for the latter three of them, their very first alien planet. Plot details are sparse, but it truly does look like a cool alien landscape, and this is Doctor Who, so adventure won't be far behind. Check it out:
Then there was another teaser, which gave us a look not at the stories of Season 2, but at the many, many guest stars who will be turning up throughout Whittaker's first year. Doctor Who has always been a prominent gathering place for amazing actors who want to be a part, however briefly, of the franchise, and this season will be no different in that regard. Check out the lineup, including Mark Addy (Game of Thrones), Chris Noth (Law & Order) and, perhaps most excitingly, the great Alan Cumming (The Good Wife).
