Doctor Who fans have been bereft of the Time Lord's travels since December 2015, notwithstanding the one-off 2016 Christmas special. Our favorite Gallifreyan will rematerialize on April 15 for a new season. We have the trailer for you below.
This one-minute trailer gives us flashes of people (the new companions, Bill and Nardole), places (corn fields, space stations) and things (Emoji Robot, sonic screwdrivers). Fans of the show have Missy, the Cybermen and the Daleks to look forward to; I'm particularly excited about what looks like a humanoid Dalek.
What we don't get? I don't see anything resembling a story arc. However, according to a follow-up video Doctor Who's YouTube channel, also below, we should expect to meet a group of enemies known as the Monks over several episodes. This implies we have a seasonal bad guy.
Although the BBC calls this season "10," it’s referring to the rebooted Doctor Who. Prior to 2005, Doctor Who had aired from 1963 to 1989, then experienced a 16-year hiatus, notwithstanding a one-off 1996 TV movie. Technically, this should be (calculates: 26 seasons + 1 TV movie + 10 seasons of rebooted Who) Season 37.
