Syfy Films has released a new trailer and a cool poster for their upcoming sci-fi thriller Atomica.

Formerly titled Half Life, the movie stars The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Lost alum Dominic Monaghan, Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down) and Sarah Habel (Hostel: Part III, Riverdale).

Set in the near future, the movie follows a safety inspector named Abby Dixon (played by Ms. Grundy Habel), who is sent to investigate when a remote nuclear waste repository mysteriously goes offline. Monaghan plays the plant's only employee, a paranoid and suspicious recluse named Robinson. Tom Sizemore plays Zek, an injured stranger who claims to have knowledge as to what really happened. You guys know nothing good can come of this, right?

Syfy Films' latest movie offering is helmed by Dagen Merrill (Beneath, Broken Hill, Murder in the Dark) from a screenplay by Kevin Burke (Ultimate Spider-Man, Marvel's Avengers Assemble, Beneath), Fred Fernandez-Armesto and Adam Gyngell. Here's a synopsis for Atomica:

In the near future, when communications go offline at a remote nuclear power plant isolated in the desert, a young safety inspector, Abby Dixon, is forced to fly out to bring them back online. Once inside the facility, mysterious clues and strange behaviors cause Abby to have doubts about the sanity, and perhaps identities, of the two employees on site.

Atomica is slated for a March 17 release in movie theaters and on VOD and Digital HD on March 21.
