Granted, we're decades away from a Lunar Pizza Creation Module or, for that matter, a moon-based population to sell pizza to, but Domino's Japan is planning for tomorrow today!

Apparently this little stunt has been hatched to celebrate Domino's 25th anniversary of selling marginally acceptable pizza in Japan. The whole Moon Branch project is kinda fun, though, from the Thunderbirds-style illustrations to the ridiculous welcome video from Domino's Japan president Scott K. Oelkers:

The L.A. Times has better Japanese translators than we do, and they've crunched some of the projected "cost figures": Development will cost $21.7 billion total, with about $0.73 billion going toward rocket-based transport of building materials.

They don't mention how lunar gravity will impact delivery time.
