Don’t think it, don’t say it. Don’t think it, don’t say it.

Having recently gone through a bit of a horror movie craze, I have to admit that this new trailer for STX’s Entertainment’s upcoming horror film The Bye Bye Man has definitely piqued my interest.

The film hails from the producers of The Strangers and Oculus and is directed by Stacy Title (The Last Supper) from a screenplay penned by Jonathan Penner, who adapted it from Robert Damon Schneck’s short story “The Bridge to Body Island.”

The Bye Bye Man stars Carrie-Anne Moss, Michael Trucco, Faye Dunaway, Douglas Smith, Cressida Bonas, Lucien Laviscount and Douglas Jones in the titular role of the terrifying Bye Bye Man. Have a look at the new trailer, and check out the poster below.

People commit unthinkable acts every day. Time and again, we grapple to understand what drives a person to do such terrible things. But what if all of the questions we’re asking are wrong? What if the source of all evil is not a matter of what…but who? When three college friends stumble upon the horrific origins of the Bye Bye Man, they discover that there is only one way to avoid his curse: don’t think it, don’t say it. But once the Bye Bye Man gets inside your head, he takes control. Is there a way to survive his possession?

The Bye Bye Man will say hello in movie theaters on Jan. 13, 2017.
