While fans got a glimpse at the upcoming team of super-weirdos coming to DC Universe’s upcoming show Doom Patrol in the first season of Titans, there was plenty left unseen. For instance, what did Robotman look like before he got all robotic?
The hero is voiced by Brendan Fraser and played by him in flashbacks, as the actor makes his long-awaited return to genre fare, but fans have so far only seen his more metallic version. Thankfully, Doom Patrol is giving fans a better idea of what to expect from some of its members in a few character previews.
Robotman — or, pre-Robotman, Cliff Steele — and Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero, helping the character make her screen debut) both got small videos showcasing their personalities a bit more from the official Doom Patrol Twitter account. Robotman bemoans his monstrosity (while Fraser appears in a racecar driver’s getup) and Jane’s fiery personalities are briefly showcased. Even Elasti-Woman gets her own preview, though we’ve seen her at work in DC Universe’s Titans.

The team seems to be playing with Suicide Squad’s style, though even that supergroup didn’t have a leader as prestigious as Timothy Dalton’s Chief. The flashy style and sense of humor bode well for the series, especially with the eclectic powers and actors at its core.
Fans can look forward to plenty of the much-missed Fraser — and Fraser’s voice, since Robotman only really has Steele’s brain left over — while Guerrero pulls an Orphan Black when Doom Patrol arrives on DC Universe Feb. 15.
