Ahead of the premiere of director Tim Burton’s next cinematic opus, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, 20th Century Fox has debuted the first two clips from the upcoming fantasy movie.

The movie stars Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Chris O'Dowd, Allison Janney, Terence Stamp, Rupert Everett, Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson as the villainous Barron. The peculiar children are played by Lauren McCrostie (Olive), Pixie Davies (Bronwyn), Cameron King (Millard), Ella Purnell (Emma), and Thomas and Joseph Odwell (theTwins).

The first clip centers on Miss Peregrine (Green), a shape-shifter called an Ymbryne, who runs a secret orphanage for said peculiar children, and our young hero, Jake, played by Asa Butterfield. In the video, Miss Peregrine explains that she has timey-wimey powers that help protect the children and their secret refuge. In the second (and rather humorous) clip, Jake and his friend Emma (Elle Purnell) face off against Nick Fury Samuel L. Jackson's razor-sharped toothed villain, Barron.

From visionary director Tim Burton, and based upon the best-selling novel, comes an unforgettable motion picture experience. When Jake discovers clues to a mystery that spans alternate realities and times, he uncovers a secret refuge known as Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As he learns about the residents and their unusual abilities, Jake realizes that safety is an illusion, and danger lurks in the form of powerful, hidden enemies. Jake must figure out who is real, who can be trusted, and who he really is.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is based on Ransom Riggs’ novel of the same name, which was published in 2011, with a screenplay penned by Jane Goldman (X-Men: First Class, Kingsman: The Secret Service). The movie will open its doors wide on Sept. 30.
