Dove Cameron has joined the cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. -- we think.
The actress recently posted the video below to her Instagram account, promising an update as to what she is working on. Before she can say the words, though, Clark Gregg, who stars as Agent Coulson on the show, shakes his finger, compelling her to keep mum. And the two get into a golf cart and drive away. The golf cart has an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. logo on it, though, so it seems safe to say that Cameron has joined the cast.
Cameron is best known for her roles in Disney Channel projects like Liv and Maddie and Descendants, and she also voiced Gwen Stacy in Ultimate Spider-Man. Her role on S.H.I.E.L.D. is anyone's guess, but Season 5 kicks off on Dec. 1, so we'll know soon enough.
On the other side of the casting spectrum, Saïd Taghmaoui (shown on the left in Wonder Woman above, courtesy of Warner Bros.) has exited FX's Legion before the upcoming season airs.
As we reported in July, Taghmaoui (last seen in Wonder Woman) was cast to play the real form of the Shadow King, aka Amahl Farouk, on the second season of the show. But today Variety is reporting that Taghmaoui has left the production. Taghmaoui said he was leaving the show via Twitter on Saturday, and Variety confirmed with an FX spokesperson. Taghmaoui's representative declined to comment.
The role will be recast, but FX will not comment further, and no other actor for the role has been announced. Production on Season 2 of Legion began in September; it is not known if Taghmaoui shot any scenes, or why he is leaving.
