A brand-new video takes a look at some of the character visual effects used during the final two episodes of the fourth season of Game of Thrones.
The cool video from Wired begins by breaking down Daenerys’ dragons from the final episode, titled “The Children,” giving us a nice behind-the-scenes look at the head molds that were now used for Emilia Clarke to act against instead of the stuffed toy references. Out with the old, in with the new.
We also have a closer look at the very creepy Wight fight sequence, in which actress Ellie Kendrick, who plays Meera Reed, had to fight the healthy, but thin, stuntmen they could find because reasons, clad in green suits and fake skeleton parts.
As the fight ultimately came to the Wall in the game-changing ninth episode, “The Watchers on the Wall,” we see how the visual-effects people dealt with the complications of shooting giants and properly scaling them. They also reveal how they created the breathtaking sequence that sees climbing Wildlings dispatched by an animated scythe.
